Saudi Arabia and Serbia are enhancing their economic and diplomatic ties, with a focus on strengthening partnerships across various sectors such as energy, technology, agriculture, and trade. Recent discussions between the two nations have centered on collaborative energy projects, advancements in information and communications technology, and agricultural initiatives. Both countries are keen to increase the presence of Serbian companies in the Saudi market while also boosting Saudi investments in Serbia.

A significant development in their diplomatic relations is the agreement signed by Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Waleed Elkhereiji and Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Duric in Belgrade, which removes visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and official passports. This move is expected to facilitate smoother official exchanges between the two nations, paving the way for increased collaboration.

Trade between Saudi Arabia and Serbia has witnessed remarkable growth. In 2025, bilateral trade reached $121 million, a substantial increase from 2012 levels. This upward trend continued in the first half of 2026, with trade figures climbing to $130.4 million, marking a 152% increase from the same period the previous year.

The upcoming international exhibitions, EXPO 2027 in Belgrade and EXPO 2030 in Riyadh, are anticipated to further bolster investment opportunities, foster business partnerships, and encourage the exchange of expertise. Saudi Arabia has confirmed its participation in EXPO 2027, where it plans to highlight its economic advancements, innovative endeavors, cultural heritage, and investment prospects.

In addition to these initiatives, both countries are exploring avenues for cooperation in science and technology.
