France and Saudi Arabia Enhance Ties Before Diplomatic Centennial.

In the lead-up to their centennial celebration of diplomatic relations in 2026, Saudi Arabia and France are intensifying their strategic partnership. The French Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Patrick Maisonnave, highlighted the significant growth in bilateral ties, which now span a range of critical sectors aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. This collaboration extends to areas such as culture, tourism, artificial intelligence, technology, energy, healthcare, defense, education, and urban development.

A prime example of this burgeoning partnership is the AlUla development project, which stands as a flagship endeavor underscoring the countries’ cooperation. Additionally, the partnership is branching into new initiatives that focus on digital innovation, entertainment, and esports, further demonstrating the expanding relationship between the two nations.

On the regional front, France and Saudi Arabia maintain close coordination on various issues, including Gulf security and the freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. Both countries are also aligned on efforts to achieve a two-state solution, ensure Lebanon’s stability, and support Syria’s reconstruction. These collaborative efforts underline a shared commitment to diplomacy and international law as means to promote regional peace and stability.

The growing alliance between Saudi Arabia and France reflects a strategic convergence that aligns with broader geopolitical objectives. With both nations reaffirming their dedication to political solutions, the partnership is set to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the region, while also contributing to the broader goals of Vision 2030.
